The power to heal ...

Today's thought is about words.

I met Christina through her blog and was someone I know a little now (still getting to know) and yesterday, she mentioned something quite wise ... that words have the power to heal, even if it came from someone we don't know.

There are times in life when we are most down and self motivation is not the remedy. In the most desparate times, the solution either presents itself or a angel in disguise comes along and saves the day by providing the lifting touch.

I guess what Christina was trying to say ... that normal people have the power to heal and make difference, and the can be healed and also at the same time empowered to heal others.

When was the last time we reached out on a limb for another in need? When was the last time we walked away when we could have done something to give hope or to make it better, even by a bit? When was the last time we gave away this power due to sheer oblivion or apathy?

Honestly, I cannot be bothered. But today, I made some nice comments, some encouragement and some advice. That made some difference because the lift made the people stand up again and in that, they helped others too.

It just made me think that if one good deed can spread so quickly, it's amazing to think that one deed could travel around the world and probably back to us.

If you could, if you had a choice, and if you can find the good intention, make a change, say the right words ... make another person's day.
